Ultimately, the power of manifestation resides within your subconscious. This is where the real magic occurs. To manifest effectively, you must vibrationally align your goals (the life you desire) with your subconscious.

The energy you project is the energy you receive back, transforming you into a magnet for abundance. The various manifestation methods serve as tools to help you harness this power.

However, manifestation goes beyond merely placing a few images on a vision board or jotting down affirmations. It isn’t just about following popular TikTok techniques like the 369 method or water manifestation (which we’ll discuss later).

Manifestation means bringing something into reality—creating your dreams and goals. While many techniques can facilitate this process, they all fundamentally revolve around the same core steps:

  1. Set Your Manifestation Goal.
  2. Align Your Goal with Your Subconscious by overcoming abundance blocks and limiting beliefs.
  3. Take Inspired Action, guided by your subconscious.

At each step of this journey, the right supporting tools can be incredibly powerful when used correctly and at the appropriate time. So, let’s explore these methods in more detail.

How Many Manifestation Methods Are There?

In my manifestation coaching, as well as in my personal practice, I primarily focus on five key techniques: guided meditations, vision boards, manifestation journaling, creative visualization, and affirmations.

I also enjoy incorporating additional tools like scripting, hypnosis, and NLP anchoring. Daily gratitude practice is another powerful technique I rely on.

Essentially, any method that aids in reprogramming your subconscious can be considered a manifestation technique, which means there are countless options available. New methods seem to emerge on platforms like TikTok almost every day (and I’m not a huge fan of many of them—I’ll explain why later).

In this guide, I’ll concentrate on the methods that I’ve found to be truly effective for transforming your subconscious. I’ll also share my insights on why some other techniques might be a waste of time.

Determining which manifestation method works best can be challenging, as each method can support you in different areas or stages of your manifestation journey.

It’s also a personal choice. For instance, my husband thrives on mindfulness meditation and gains tremendous clarity from it, while I find it less effective due to my ADHD. I personally prefer journaling for reflection work.

Ultimately, the best approach is to experiment with various methods and see which ones resonate with you.

What It Is:

Serving as a daily reminder of your aspirations, a vision board is a powerful tool because your subconscious responds strongly to visual cues. It can enhance your creative visualizations—simply look at your vision board and visualize yourself already living that dream life.

When to Use:
A vision board is an excellent goal-setting tool right from the start of your manifestation journey. Make it a habit to review it frequently in your daily routine, actively using it for visualizations.

Manifestation Affirmations

What It Is:
Affirmations are positive statements that affirm your desired outcome, stated in the present tense as if what you are manifesting is already a reality.

How It Helps You Manifest:
Your subconscious thrives on repetition, making manifestation affirmations particularly effective. When you consistently affirm a “new reality,” your subconscious begins to believe it and will work to bring that reality to fruition.

When to Use:
You can incorporate affirmations into your vision board or write them in a journal. A powerful method is to say them out loud or listen to guided affirmation recordings.

Manifestation Journal

What It Is:
A manifestation journal is similar to a regular journal, but it focuses exclusively on your manifestation goals during your writing practice.

How It Helps You Manifest:
This journal is ideal for reflection, helping you gain clarity about what you want to manifest. It can also be used to identify abundance blocks and reflect on limiting beliefs. Two effective journaling exercises include gratitude journaling and scripting manifestation, which we’ll discuss separately.

When to Use:
I use my manifestation journal daily, usually in the mornings, but it’s also beneficial before bed. Its versatility makes it a powerful tool at every stage of the manifestation process, with reflection work being my personal favorite.

Scripting Manifestation

What It Is:
Scripting, or future scripting, is a journaling technique where you write out your manifestations as if they are already part of your life, focusing on your goals in the present or past tense.

How It Helps You Manifest:
This method effectively communicates to your subconscious what your new reality should look like. By framing it as if it has already occurred, your subconscious has no choice but to accept it as truth.

When to Use:
I love using scripting during my yearly goal-setting and when I’m close to manifesting my desires. You can adjust your future script as needed along the way.

Creative Visualization

What It Is:
Creative visualization is a cognitive process that involves forming vivid mental images using your imagination. While it can be done with closed eyes, many find open-eye visualization more effective.

How It Helps You Manifest:
These mental images convey a strong message to your subconscious, making creative visualization a valuable manifestation tool.

When to Use:
While you can use creative visualization to discover what you want, it’s most effective once you have a clear idea of your desired outcome. Techniques include the perfect day visualization or imagining your life as a movie.

What It Is:
Among various meditation techniques, guided meditation is particularly powerful for manifesting your desires. These sessions, often led by a teacher or through audio recordings, focus on specific themes, such as my free manifestation meditation for attracting abundance (available for download).

Guided meditations directly engage your subconscious mind, leveraging the spoken word as a strong emotional trigger that enhances your manifestation efforts.

When to Use:
You can start your day with guided meditations to elevate your mood, or use them before bedtime. Your subconscious continues to process these messages as you sleep, helping you manifest on autopilot.

What It Is:
Practicing gratitude is a fundamental aspect of successful manifestation. The law of attraction posits that like attracts like, so expressing gratitude for what you have naturally draws in more reasons to be thankful.

How It Helps You Manifest:
Gratitude elevates your vibrational frequency. Experiencing gratitude effectively closes the door on negativity, allowing only positive feelings to flow. I often say that gratitude is the healthiest emotion you can experience. Additionally, being thankful for your current blessings signals to your subconscious that you’re ready for the abundance-filled life you wish to manifest.

When to Use:
Incorporate gratitude into your life as frequently as possible! If I had to choose the most powerful manifestation method, gratitude would top the list due to its simplicity. You can keep a daily gratitude journal or simply express what you’re thankful for throughout the day. The more you practice gratitude, the more blessings appear for you to appreciate.

Power Manifestation 5X5

What It Is:
Don’t confuse this with the 55×5 method! The Power Manifestation 5X5 is a technique I developed for my course, inspired by my mentor Jack Canfield. It’s designed to help my students take more inspired action.

How It Helps You Manifest:
Taking inspired action is the third step in the manifestation process; without action, your goals won’t materialize. This technique is a game-changer, and my students have found it incredibly effective.

When to Use:
Use this method daily. It’s specifically designed to encourage action, and you can apply it consistently until your dreams become a reality.

Hypnosis

What It Is:
Hypnosis, whether self-induced or guided, is another valuable tool in the manifestation process. It’s important to distinguish this from stage hypnosis, which is meant for entertainment; hypnosis is about achieving a deep state of relaxation.

How It Helps You Manifest:
Research shows that hypnosis can alleviate stress, boost self-esteem, and enhance thought patterns—all of which are beneficial for manifesting significant goals. In a hypnotized state, your subconscious is highly receptive to suggestions, making it a powerful way to harness its capabilities for manifestation.

When to Use:
I enjoy using guided hypnosis recordings in the morning to set a positive tone for the day. Additionally, hypnosis can be effective for overcoming abundance blocks, especially emotional obstacles or fears. For this purpose, you might consider working with a professional hypnotherapist.

NLP Anchoring Technique

What It Is:
NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) anchors create a stimulus-response pattern, enabling you to evoke desired emotional states. For instance, if you want to feel relaxed, you can establish an anchor that helps you return to that state whenever needed.

How It Helps You Manifest:
Having a tool to access a desired emotional state is invaluable when manifesting. Anchors can also serve as reminders for your goals, signaling to your subconscious each time you use them.

When to Use:
Use your anchors as often as needed. Once established, you can call upon them whenever you require. In my advanced manifestation course, I teach a specific three-role manifestation technique that incorporates anchors, providing another effective application for NLP in your practice.

Popular TikTok Manifestation Methods (Not Recommended)

Now, let’s discuss some manifestation tools that I do NOT recommend.

I refer to them as such because they are among the most popular methods circulating on TikTok, shared millions of times. Unfortunately, many of these techniques are presented by individuals without any formal background or education in manifestation, leading to widespread misunderstandings about their effectiveness and application.

In recent years, I’ve seen an overwhelming number of these methods emerge, and to be blunt, most of them are simply misguided.

Take, for example, the so-called “random number” techniques like the 55×5 method, the 333 method, or the 369 method. These methods claim that you can manifest your desires simply by writing them down a specific number of times or over a set number of days.

The idea that your dream life will magically materialize just because you wrote it down 55 times? I don’t buy it!

It feels reminiscent of childhood myths like the tooth fairy—it’s amusing but unrealistic.

Sure, journaling and positive affirmations are powerful tools for manifestation, and writing down your goals can be beneficial. However, relying solely on these methods will not make your dreams come true. This approach is what I call hope and luck-based manifestation.

It’s possible that the person promoting these techniques did manifest their dreams, but that could just be a matter of luck rather than a replicable method. And unfortunately, these techniques are not something you can teach to others.

The notion that drinking a glass of water can change someone’s life is absurd. These methods feel random and seem to be products of someone’s imagination.

Why 55×5, 33×3, 777, or 369? Why not 23×4?

You might wonder why I even bother discussing these techniques if I don’t endorse them.

I have two important reasons:

First, when social media influencers promote these so-called manifestation methods, they become so popular that people begin to believe they work. This can be damaging and disheartening. I receive countless emails from new readers expressing their disappointment after trying “every manifestation technique under the sun” without any success.

Second, as more people search for these methods, I prefer that they find my insights—coming from an author and coach with over a decade of experience in the field—rather than advice from someone who simply jumps on trends without understanding the fundamental principles of manifestation.

I wholeheartedly appreciate when people share their manifestation success stories, and I understand the desire to help others. However, when someone on TikTok shares these techniques without grasping the basics and makes outrageous claims like “you can manifest anything in 24 hours” just to gain clicks, it spreads false hope. And that’s not okay.
